La Perla Gioielli Jewellers
"La Perla Gioelli" is the oldest and most prestigious jewelry store of the island, founded in the far-off 1936 by a local matriarch, Aprea Olimpia.
Situated in the heart of the famous "Piazzetta", this store has always been an international jet-set attraction due to the warm hospitality and professionalism of Olimpia and of her daughter Angela later on .
We can mention among the illustrious clients: Jacqueline Kennedy, Maria Callas, Aristotele Onassis, Clark Gable.
John Steinbeck, guest in Olimpia's residence, wrote one of his famous novels during a long stay in Capri.
In the 1940's, Mother Olimpia created a lucky charm, "La Campanella di San Michele" (St. Michael's bell). It was donated in a huge size to President Roosevelt and was rung in Washington to mark the end of second World War.
Today Giorgio and Giuseppe, Angela's sons, preserve the family tradition with professionalism and courtesy.
The finesse of its creations continues to catch the attention of notorious customers such as Sofia Loren, Dolce e Gabbana, Keanu Reeves, Mariah Carey, Henry Kissinger, Naomi Campbell and many more.
"La Perla" also proposes the most impressive haute-jewellery and watch designers, among which the exclusive creations of Buccellati, master and jeweller of international fame.
