Rolex Capri Sailing Week
The Rolex Capri Sailing Week returns to the turquoise waters of Capri providing spirited competition for the start of the Mediterranean racing season.
Hosted by the Yacht Club Capri and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the Rolex Capri Sailing Week provides a week of highly competitive racing for the Swan 45 and Farr 40 one-design, Mini Maxi and Comet classes. The strikingly picturesque island provides a stunning backdrop to the on-the-water racing action in the Bay of Naples, off Capri.
Festa di San Costanzo
The tribute in honor of San Costanzo, the Patron Saint of the whole island of Capri, is celebrated every May 14th.
The statue of the Saint can be found in the ex Cathedral of St Stefano, in the corridor leading to the sacristy. The day before the ceremony, the simulacrum is displayed in the Church and, on May 14th is transported by means of a long procession in to the Church of Marina Grande, where it remains for a week, prior to being returned to Capri.
Festa di Sant'Antonio
St. Antonio is the Patron Saint of Anacapri, celebrated every June 13th.
The day of the celebrations a long and sombre procession is performed carrying the statue of the Saint through the streets of the center and at its passing, from the balconies, the faithful throw rose petals and broom flower, the flower of Saint Antonio. A week before the ceremony, the Church of Santa Sofia and the historic center of Anacapri are decorated with colored lights and drapes.
The small, narrow lanes are lined with stalls selling children's toys, candy and household goods.
In the evening, a concert is held in Piazza Diaz.
The Tre Golfi Regatta
The Tre Golfi Sailing Week is organised in Capri by the Circolo Italia of Naples and offers a great opportunity to sail among the beautiful Neapolitan Islands.
