Fully approved. Gelsomina is one of those discoveries that change the way you experience Capri. It is not just a restaurant, it is a break, a diversion from the frenzy of peak times, a refuge on the Migliara that tastes of earth, sea, and authenticity. Getting there is a bit tiring, but they send the shuttle to the square in Anacapri – and this alone is a gesture that is worth the trip. Once inside, you are surrounded by land cultivated with care and wisdom, and the atmosphere immediately becomes light. The cuisine plays on the winning formula: tradition, local ingredients, and very fresh fish. The menu does not give up on marine influences, but the true soul is tied to the land, with dishes that tell the story of the territory without ever forcing the issue. Originality? High. The locals of Capri know it well; in fact, they frequent it constantly – and the honest prices, all things considered affordable, help. The environment is spacious, clean, and surrounded by greenery: relaxation is guaranteed, amidst silence and breezes. The pool is a precious plus against the summer heat, although it must be said: in summer it is very crowded. But you have the chance to take a walk in the nearby philosophical park, donated by a Swedish intellectual, well-kept and evocative, and to enjoy a splendid viewpoint. The service? Friendly and efficient, as rarely happens in such busy places. Gelsomina does not follow trends. It follows its own pace, and takes you along with it. Highly recommended for those looking for the true flavor of the island, far from stereotypes.

We had researched where to get great local food and Ristorante Da Gelsomina was highly rated and did not disappoint. We had the Ravioli alla Caprese, followed by the Pollo al Mattone & Coniglio alla Cacciatora. All tasted excellent. Apparently these dishes have been on the menu for circa 60 years. We were looked after by Pasquale who is 3rd generation from this family run restaurant. He was excellent. He also explained their farm only services their restaurant In summary excellent location, service and food, well worth searching out.

An absolutely unforgettable experience, best food we’ve eaten on the Amalfi coast! Highly recommend the rabbit ragu and the stuffed zucchini flowers-both outstanding. The service and staff are exceptional.
