In the 1940's, the British music-hall comedienne Gracie Fields fell head-over-heels in love with the Island of Capri and, in particular, with an old fort overlooking the Bay of Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni. It was here that she realized the Canzone del Mare bathing establishment and, at the same time, created what was soon to become one of the island's finest eateries.
Fresh Flavors of the Sea
Today, as in years past, clients dining at Restaurant Canzone del Mare enjoy Capri's excellent fresh fish and seafood dishes and an array of meat-based and Mediterranean specialties featuring the island's excellent seasonal produce and wild herbs, served in the main dining room, in the veranda or on the magnificent sea view terrace.
The well-researched wine list features a faultless selection of local and Italian wines, best sampled soaked with juicy yellow peaches, a unique island tradition.

A historic restaurant with view of the Bay of Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni rocks: La Canzone del Mare is just a short bus or taxi ride away from Capri's legendary Piazzetta. Alternatively, customers can reach the restaurant on foot, via the panoramic Via Krupp.
