At the end of a beautifully panoramic road, just ten minutes away from the center of Anacapri, and perched right on the sea's edge, lies the bathing establishment and restaurant, Lido del Faro. The D'Esposito family built the Lido amidst the rocks of Capri's jagged coastline in 1971, taking great care so as to not tarnish in any way the immense natural beauty of the place.
The restaurant Lido del Faro, which boasts a splendid terrace overlooking the sea surrounding the lighthouse of Punta Carena, is renowned for its traditional cuisine and, in particular, its seafood specialities.
Local favourites include marinated salmon and anchovies, seafood risotto, tubettoni with limpets, linguine with prawns and rocket, and grilled baby squid. No matter how much fish and pasta they may have eaten, few will be able to resist a slice of the restaurant's delicious Torta Caprese - a rich concoction of chocolate and almonds, served with a dollop or two of homemade ice-cream. We enjoyed the beach club as the views were gorgeous and the water was refreshing. There is also a nice pool which was relaxing as the entry to the sea is quite deep so you need to be a good swimmer... more »
