FAQ - Frequently asked questions
Are there discounts for children?
Children under 2 travel free. Children ages 3-5 pay €120, while those 6 and older pay the full rate of €140. A reservation is required even for free children.
Is the Blue Grotto visit guaranteed?
No, the Blue Grotto visit is not guaranteed and is optional. The grotto may be closed due to rough seas or strong winds, and wait times can be long. The entrance fee is not included, and it is paid directly on-site. The tour still includes a panoramic stop in front of the entrance.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 2 days before departure. If bad weather makes the excursion impossible, you can reschedule for another day (subject to availability) or cancel without penalty. No refunds are provided for cancellations within 2 days of departure.
Does the tour always depart or is a minimum number required?
Departure is guaranteed only with a minimum of 10 participants. If the minimum isn't reached, the tour may be canceled or moved to another date. In this case, you'll receive advance notice with options for a full refund or date change without penalty.
Are there any bathrooms on board?
Yes, the boat is equipped with restrooms and a freshwater shower.
What happens if weather conditions are bad?
If bad weather makes the excursion impossible, you can reschedule for another available day or cancel without any penalty. The captain decides to ensure passenger safety, and you'll receive prompt notification.
What's the exact meeting point for boarding?
In Positano, boarding is at the main port, third cabin on the right called "L'uomo e il mare," near Hotel Covo dei Saraceni. In Praiano, the meeting point is at Marina di Praia, where you'll find a white "Plaghia Charter" ticket office in front of Hotel Alfonso a Mare. Arrive 10-15 minutes before departure for check-in and landing tax payment.
Is hotel pickup available?
No, the tour doesn't include hotel pickup service. You must arrive independently at your chosen meeting point (Positano or Praiano) 10/15 minutes before departure. If you're staying in a different location from the departure ports, consider transfer times and check public transport schedules, or book a private taxi to arrive on time.
