However, due to the long lines at the entrance, we are unable to include a stop at the Grotto as part of the tour. We did this tour because it was so easy to do both the climb to the summit of Vesuvio and Pompei without having to coordinate trains and buses or ticket times. The lunch stop with pizza, and wine was a huge bonus and lovely after the climb. The driver was very skilled and Melanie our guide was very friendly and amazingly lingual. Great day out

Perfect day for both tours with delicious pizza in between. I will say...if you get winded easily, the hike up the volcano will be rough. Very steep!!!
